Security deposit rules in Ohio

Ohio: return the deposit within 30 calendar days of the later of move-out and the end of the tenancy. Interest: conditional. Penalty if the rule is not followed (no bad faith needed): 1x the amount withheld on top of the refund. (Ohio Rev. Code 5321.16)

The rule text

Any deduction from the security deposit shall be itemized and identified by the landlord in a written notice delivered to the tenant together with the amount due, within thirty days after termination of the rental agreement and delivery of possession.
